So I guess I could have started this build 9 months ago when I had the tank and stand put in the corner of my living room, but then I would have to deal with 9 months of you wonderful people asking for updates and not being able to give you chit...

So fast forward to March 2014, I finally got the back plumbed:

Spun it around...heavy as hell, and filled with sand:

Started the fill...this will be a while:

6 hours later...progress!!

So that's where we're at so far. The plan is going to be a mixed reef, but mostly sticks. The 30B that doesn't exist :spy: will be the znp tank :)

Thanks for tuning in!

I filled a couple days after, then added salt. Also put in some bacteria and some dry rock:

This was from last night, prelim scape:

Fish to be added when I can find them :spy:

Man, big tanks are a bear to set up. What are the plans for stocking? And is that setup for a closed loop (the bulkheads towards the bottom)?

It's a closed loop ready tank, but I'm unable ATM to run it that way, so just going the standard route.

Stocking is somewhat a secret, but I'm tossing the idea of a trio of clowns. Does that ever work out? Also, keeping my Desjardini, cleaner, maybe the pylei, maybe the tomini, and probably my mega melanarus.

Awesome tank! I like the external overflow. What are your plans for filtration?

Go with a pair of Melanopus clowns. Those yellow yellow fins! That blue stripe! The jet black pectoral fins! They just scream sexy.

40B sump, running a K1 chamber, Siporax, and a fuge, an Aquamaxx CO-2, CPR BP tumbler, and a calcium reactor is the list of equipment "under the hood".

Small update: drop 3 chromies to feed the bacteria and Put the 2 T5 supplement to see what it looks lit :)
